Seafood Pastilla Recipe

Add a touch of elegance to your table with this seafood pastilla flavored with our special pastilla spice blend. This recipe combines rich flavors with a crispy texture, perfect for lovers of refined cuisine. 🥘
Ingredients:
- 250 g small pastilla pastry sheets
- 300 g peeled shrimp
- 300 g diced squid
- 300 g white fish cut into large cubes
- 100 g rice vermicelli
- 80 g pitted green olives, finely chopped
- 1/4 preserved lemon, cut into pieces
- 150 g thinly sliced button mushrooms
- 100 g melted butter
- Juice of half a lemon
- 5 cl olive oil
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 1 minced onion
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp harissa
- 2 tbsp minced parsley and cilantro
- 1 beaten egg
- 3 tbsp of our special pastilla spice blend

Preparation:
1. Preparing the seafood
- In a skillet over high heat, sauté the squid and shrimp in 3 tbsp of butter for 2 to 3 minutes. Set aside in a bowl.
- Sauté the diced white fish in 2 tbsp of butter over high heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Set aside.
2. Preparing the filling
- In another skillet, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion, garlic, mushrooms, harissa, olives, and our special pastilla spice blend for 5 minutes over medium heat.
- Add the preserved lemon, parsley, and cilantro, then mix.
3. Preparing the vermicelli
Soak the rice vermicelli in hot water for 5 minutes. Drain it, then cut it into small pieces.
4. Mixing the filling
- In a large bowl, carefully mix the white fish, seafood, vermicelli, and mushroom and onion mixture.
- Add the lemon juice and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Divide the filling into four portions.
5. Assembling the pastillas
- Butter a small round mold and line it with a small pastilla pastry sheet. Brush the sheet with butter and cover it with a second sheet to reinforce it.
- Fill the pastilla sheet with one portion of the filling. Fold the edges over the top, then coat them with butter and beaten egg to seal them.
- Place the small pastilla, folded side down, on a buttered baking sheet. Brush it with melted butter.
- Repeat until all the filling has been used.
6. Baking the pastillas
- Bake the pastillas in a preheated oven at 180°C until golden brown.
- Serve the pastillas hot.
Tips:
- For an even more refined presentation, sprinkle the pastillas with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
