1. What is the difference between an organic vegetable oil and an organic essential oil?

A vegetable oil (such as argan or castor oil) is obtained by cold-pressing seeds or fruits and is used pure or as a base. An essential oil (such as lavender or eucalyptus) is a concentrated extract obtained by steam distillation: it must always be diluted before application to the skin.

2. How can you tell if a Moroccan organic oil is truly pure?

A pure oil has a natural color that varies slightly from one batch to another (unlike chemically standardized oils), a characteristic scent that can sometimes be strong, and never leaves a uniform greasy film like mineral oils.

3. Can several organic oils be mixed together?

Yes, it is even recommended for certain uses: for example, combining castor oil and argan oil in a hair mask, or black seed oil and sesame oil as a body treatment. Just avoid layering too many concentrated essential oils without dilution.

4. How long do organic oils last once opened?

On average, 6 to 12 months for vegetable oils stored away from light and heat, and up to 2 to 3 years for essential oils kept tightly closed, thanks to their high concentration of natural preservative compounds.

5. Are Moroccan essential oils suitable for sensitive skin?

Some are (chamomile, rose), while others are more stimulating (thyme, cinnamon) and should be tested beforehand on a small area. Our product pages always specify the usage precautions for each oil.

6. Why are some Moroccan oils more expensive than others?

The price mainly depends on the rarity of the raw material and the extraction yield: for example, dozens of kilograms of flowers are needed to produce a few milliliters of rose oil, whereas sesame oil requires far less raw material.
